SHIVAJI FORT AT MOUNT KOHOJ

How would you like to visit a place that just looks like a beautiful landscape painting come alive?  One of the prime attractions at the Govardhan Eco Village is the rich experience of nature’s beauty that one gets to relish. The Govardhan Eco Village is nestled amidst the Sahyadri mountain ranges, a part of the Western ghats of India.

The Sahyadri mountains are famous as one of the richest sources of biodiversity, along with also being a home to a rich cultural he mountain peak facing the Govardhan Eco Village is the famous Mt. Kohoj, celebrated for serving as a hide out of the illustrious king Chatrapati Shivaji. King Shivaji, who belonged to the Maratha dynasty, was one of the most famous warrior kings of India and is a popular figure even today in the state of Maharashtra. One can still find ruins of the fort King Shivaji built atop Mt. Kohoj. Also on top of the mountain are three temples and two man made caves that act as a source of fresh mountain water.
