At Govardhan School of Yoga (GSY) we primarily aim to facilitate a journey of inner awakening and transformation based on the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita. As the Bhagavad Gita explains, Lord Krishna is the original Yogeshwara or the Master of Yoga and by becoming conscious of Him one can revive one’s own inner spiritual nature. At GSY we see ourselves not as mere teachers but as facilitators in this beautiful of inner awakening. And when our true spiritual nature begins to awaken, it will naturally rekindle the dormant spirit of love and service towards one. That is our second aim, to love and to serve one and all transcending the limits of nationality, race, culture, gender and even species.
Yoga is a very ancient science that is a part of the very fabric of Indian society. For centuries these ancient techniques of Yoga have been taught by various expert masters for the benefit of the masses. And in spite of such mass preaching, what makes traditional sciences like Yoga so effective and free from distortions and concoctions is the integrity of the spiritual tradition. The Govardhan School of Yoga is also a part of an ancient traditional lineage and presents the pristine teachings of Yoga based on ancient scriptures like Yoga Sutras, Bhagavad Gita and Srimad Bhagavatam. The holistic approach of these scriptures is evident in GSY, where yoga is seen not just on the mat but also off the mat!
During the 5 Days Women’s Wellness Workshop you will have a deeper knowledge and practice of Asanas and Pranayama, along with an introduction of cleansing technique. The theory classes on Yoga Philosophy will help you understand yoga off the mat.
