Aarti’s first acquaintance with Yoga came at quite a young age with Yoga Vidya Gurukul, Nashik where she enrolled for a Pranayama course. After a few years of studies in Arts and working in the service industry, she had a longing to deepen her knowledge, especially of ancient, scriptural and the traditional practices of Yoga. She embarked again on her Yoga journey, joining a basic course and then learning through all the levels up to Yoga Pandit.
During her Yoga education, Aarti studied philosophy, yoga therapy, Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, specialised in a course for yoga instructors and learned the nuances of giving special classes for senior citizens, pre and post-natal yoga and children’s yoga.
After more than 6 years of a wide range of teaching experiences, conducting seminars and workshops for all age groups, she went on to complete a Teachers Training and Advanced Course at the most traditional settings of Sivananda Ashram in Kerela. Back at Govardhan Ecovillage, she continues her Yoga teaching, practices, personal sadhana and study of the Bhagavad Gita, in the Vaishnava Tradition.
