The Bhakti Vaibhava Residential Course offers an immersive and systematic study of the first six Cantos of Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, one of the most profound scriptures of the Vedic tradition.
Spanning approximately eight to nine months, the course takes students on a verse-by-verse journey through the first six Cantos of the Bhāgavatam. It combines rigorous scriptural study with devotional practice, saintly association, personal reflection, presentation skills, and practical service.
More than simply studying the Bhāgavatam, students have the opportunity to gradually develop a deeper appreciation for its teachings and experience how its wisdom can transform one’s understanding, character, and devotional life.

A Deep Journey Through the First Six Cantos
The Bhakti Vaibhava curriculum covers Cantos 1 through 6 of Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, systematically progressing through the philosophical and devotional teachings revealed throughout these Cantos. The study is divided into four modules:
- Module 1 – Cantos 1 & 2
- Module 2 – Canto 3
- Module 3 – Canto 4
- Module 4 – Cantos 5 & 6
Each module builds upon the previous one, allowing students to gradually develop a comprehensive understanding of the Bhāgavatam and its presentation of the Supreme Lord, His devotees, devotional service, creation, the living entity, and the path of spiritual realization.
Verse-by-Verse Study
At the heart of the course is a careful verse-by-verse study of Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam. Each class begins with the recitation of the Sanskrit verse along with its translation. The teacher then explains the verse in detail, highlights important insights from Śrīla Prabhupāda’s purport, and connects the teachings to practical devotional life.
The teachers also share realizations drawn from their own decades of practicing Krishna consciousness. This combination of scriptural scholarship, lived experience, and practical application enables students to see the Bhāgavatam not merely as a text to be studied, but as a guide for living a life of devotion.
Entering the Depth of Śrīla Prabhupāda's Purports
Śrīla Prabhupāda invested tremendous effort in presenting the teachings of the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam for the modern world, particularly in the first two Cantos. The first two Cantos are traditionally described as representing the lotus feet of the Supreme Lord, and they establish the foundational principles upon which the later Cantos build.
